This book presents for students of international communication the theoretical language and methodological tools needed for understanding issues of global media representation.

 The book’s origins lie in my own struggles in teaching international communication. I have struggled with existing “textbooks” which often reduce complex theoretical positions into banal propositions or take the opposite tack—assume that the student/ reader understands (and agrees) with the jargon and  theoretical/political position of the writer.m
